Granular · Broad-spectrum adsorption
General municipal and industrial service across organics and trace contaminants.
PNW BIO produces one supercapacitor-grade carbon (SC-1, branded FT-Energy 4000) and eight activated-carbon grades (AC-1 through AC-8) for water remediation and industrial adsorption. All nine run on the same proprietary process platform, distinguished by software-selected pore regime and activation conditions.
SC-1 is a microporous carbon engineered for electrode-layer energy storage. Pore architecture is tuned to electrolyte ion radius; surface area is held at a BET target substantially above commercial benchmark; and metallic impurities are controlled below 20 ppm per element on ICP-MS.
The grade is produced in the microporous mode of the platform. Every batch is released against the specification below and against the process-capability claims described on the Quality page.
Typical applications. Electric-double-layer capacitor electrodes, hybrid capacitor architectures, grid-stabilisation storage, energy-recovery systems.

The AC family covers eight mesoporous grades tuned across particle size, iodine number, molasses number, and pellet hardness for PFAS adsorption, municipal drinking-water treatment, and industrial trace-contaminant removal.
General municipal and industrial service across organics and trace contaminants.
Mesoporosity tuned for long-chain PFAS adsorption in drinking-water matrices.
Service targeting trace-level organic contaminants in industrial process water.
Hardness-optimised pellet form for air-phase and gas-treatment applications.
Residential and small-system service, sized for point-of-entry cartridge media.
Higher iodine-number envelope for utility-scale PFAS and TOC polishing.
Pellet form for fixed-bed industrial treatment under continuous loading.
Custom-configurable service grade for customer-specific adsorption profiles.
Grade-level data sheets with full specification envelopes are available on request. Binding commercial terms are established by executed supply agreements only.
Two regulatory frameworks currently shape demand for high-grade activated carbon in the United States. The EPA's National Primary Drinking Water Regulation for PFAS sets enforceable maximum contaminant levels, requiring thousands of water systems to deploy treatment media. Build America, Buy America procurement pathways favor domestic-content suppliers for federally funded infrastructure work.
PNW BIO is positioned to serve both — domestic feedstock, domestic conversion, domestic specification release — and the AC family is configured to meet the adsorption profiles those markets require.
Regulatory context is described for background only. Procurement qualification, eligibility, and compliance confirmation follow the terms of each customer's governing procurement framework and are the responsibility of the contracting party. PNW BIO supports customer qualification through documentation and process data.
